2 alleged victims of summary execution found in Cagayan-Apayao border
TUGUEGARAO CITY –– Police found two bodies in a grassy area in the boundary of Apayao and Cagayan provinces over the weekend.
Lt. Caroline Bomyong, Conner police chief, on Tuesday, identified one of the bodies as that of Jessie James Ola-ao, 21, of Barangay Dagupan in Tabuk City in Kalinga province.
The other was described as a minor from Barangay Nambaran, also in Tabuk.
Members of the Provincial Mobile Force Company in Apayao found the bodies while jogging in the area.
They said bloodstains on the road shoulder led them to the site where they found the two bodies.
The police said the victims’ hands and feet were tied and their heads covered with plastic.
Investigators believed the two were victims of summary execution as scene-of-the-crime operatives confirmed that the two were shot with guns. No empty bullets were found on the site.
The police brought the bodies to their respective families for autopsy. VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
