Girl waiting by a TV station to seek help stabbed in the neck

MANILA, Philippines — A minor was stabbed in the neck by a 38-year-old male while waiting at a television station in Mandaluyong City on early Tuesday morning, police said.
According to a report from the Mandaluyong City Police Station, the minor was at the station in Barangay Highway Hills at around 2:45 a.m. with her father to seek medical assistance from a television host.
“[T]he suspect crossed the road holding a screwdriver and without apparent reasons suddenly stabbed the minor victim on the right portion of her neck then hurriedly ran along Sheridan Street,” the report said.
Police did not mention a motive for the attack.
But, the report did say the victim sought assistance from the Greenfield Police Substation 5, leading to a follow-up operation where the suspect was arrested and the weapon used was recovered that same day.
The victim survived the attack, while the suspect was detained at the Mandaluyong City Police Station’s custodial facility.

The suspect will face a complaint before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office for frustrated homicide in relation to Republic Act No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
