MANILA — Actress and TV host Pauleen Luna-Sotto is the celebrity reader for the Inquirer Read-Along sponsored by Hanabishi Appliances this Saturday, May 15, at 6 p.m.

She will be reading Ompong Remigio’s Papel de Liha from Adarna Publishing. It is a story that honors a mother’s untiring love for her family. Even when her hands are roughened by hard work, they become soft with tenderness for her child.

Launched by the Philippine Daily Inquirer in 2007, the Inquirer Read-Along aims to promote love of reading among children.

“We believe that mothers play an important role in instilling the love of reading to their children. This is why we have decided to join the Read-Along this May, the month when we celebrate our mothers. We thank Pauleen, who is a mom herself, for accepting the invitation to read for us,” said Hanabishi Appliances Vice President for Finance and Marketing Cherish Ong-Chua.

Pauleen is married to long-time Hanabishi brand ambassador Vic Sotto. “Pauleen is the perfect celebrity reader because she instills the love of reading to her daughter Tali and she is an inspiration to every young mom nowadays,” Ong-Chua added.

Another brand ambassador, Sarah Geronimo, will also join the event to greet the kids. She will spearhead the donation of P150,000 worth of Hanabishi appliances to be given to 60 children who are joining the session via Zoom.

The Inquirer Read-Along with Pauleen will also be broadcast live on the Facebook pages of Inquirer.net, Inquirer Read-Along, Inquirer Foundation, and INQ Subscription.
