1 drug suspect slain, 17 busted in Cavite
LUCENA CITY –– A drug suspect was killed, and 17 alleged drug pushers were arrested in buy-bust operations in Cavite province during the past 24 hours.
Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, reported at 11 a.m. Tuesday that one of the drug pushers, Larry Miranda, was killed in a sting that ended in an encounter in Barangay Bucana Sasahan in Naic town.
The police did not provide details on the operation that led to the death of the alleged drug suspect.
Authorities seized 54 packets of shabu (crystal meth) from the arrested suspects in separate operations in General Trias City and Indang and Naic towns.
The police also arrested nine criminals, nine illegal gamblers, and four suspects in various crimes.
Authorities recorded 2,974 COVID-19 safety protocol violators, with 2,126 of them not wearing a face shield, 466 violating the curfew, 356 not wearing a face mask, and 26 not following physical distancing.
