29 new COVID-19 cases in Zambales: Families infect each other

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–At least 29 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Zambales on Thursday (April 29) with most of the patients having no history of travel outside the province, indicating community transmission, according to an official.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health officer, said among the new cases are that of five family members at the village of San Pascual in San Narciso town who were exposed to a household member.

Another family at the village of San Rafael, also in San Narciso, has been hit by the virus with five of its members falling ill.

Citing local health data, Bueno said virus transmission among family members has been observed in the province.

Most of the sources of the infection were relatives who are working.

As of Thursday, the province had 1,979 total cases, including 1,496 recoveries and 37 deaths.
