Eastern Visayas’ new single-day COVID-19 record: 108 new cases
TACLOBAN CITY—Eastern Visayas has recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (April 28), its highest single-day record in 2021.
According to a report of the Department of Health (DOH), all the region’s six provinces posted new COVID-19 cases.
Leyte province has the most cases with 59. Southern Leyte followed with 31, Northern Samar with 16, Samar with nine, Biliran with two and Eastern Samar with one.
According to the DOH, Eastern Visayas now has 17,871 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
It currently has 619 active cases.
The DOH renewed its call for the people to strictly heed all minimum health protocols “at all times and at all settings.”
