240 new Eastern Visayas cops told to be ready to fight rebels
TACLOBAN CITY—Eastern Visayas has 240 new policemen.
They graduated on Wednesday (April 28) in a ceremony held on the grounds of the regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) at Camp Ruberto Kangleon in Palo town, Leyte province.
The neophyte policemen, belonging to Class Makadiwa, would be first assigned to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion before deployment to different provinces in the region.
Among the courses they finished was basic internal security operations which, officials said, would equip the new policemen with the right attitude, values, skills and knowledge at the start of their law enforcement careers.
Brig. Gen. Ronaldo De Jesus, PNP regional director, said he expected the new policemen to be effective in the counterinsurgency campaign “now that you. have been equipped with the necessary training and skills.”
“Together, let us raise the quality of public service in the region,” he added.
