Retired cop nabbed for drugs in Leyte
ORMOC CITY –– Authorities arrested a retired policeman in a drug bust in Barangay Tabu, Dulag town in Leyte at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Apr 21.
Edgar Bautista, 59, did not resist arrest.
Bautista was formerly assigned at the Southern Police District and reassigned at Camp Crame until his retirement in 2014.
Law enforcers recovered from his possession sachets of shabu (methamphetamine) worth about P34,000.
The suspect denied owning the illegal substance.
The arresting agents are preparing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspect, who is temporarily detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency custodial facility in Palo, Leyte.
