Foreigner with US passport found dead in GenSan with gunshot wound inside car
GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Authorities here found the body of a foreign national, who had an American passport, inside a car parked in a secluded spot at the village of Baluan in the city’s outskirts on Monday (April 19).
Lt. Rodel Ventura, deputy station commander of the Lagao police station, said the body of Hyun Seong Hong, who was identified through his American passport, bore a gunshot wound when found inside the car, a white Suzuki. Police also found a bottle filled with petrol and burnt upholstery inside the car.
Ventura said Hyun, a businessman temporarily living at the village of Labangal, was found to be overstaying in the Philippines and was set to be deported.

Maj. Yul Hilado, station commander of the Lagao police station, said Hyun was into lending business and that documents pertaining to his business had also been found inside the car.
In January 2016, he was arrested in a hotel here by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), who reportedly seized from Hyun some P75,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and drug paraphernalia.
