MANILA, Philippines — Travelers from the “NCR Plus” bubble, as well as the cities of Cebu and Davao will not be permitted to enter Western Visayas or Region 6 until April 10, 2021.

In a press briefing Monday, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the request of Western Visayas / Region 6 officials to temporarily prohibit the entry of travelers from Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal and Cavite—or areas covered by the “NCR Plus” bubble—as well as Cebu City and Davao City until April 10, 2021.

“Kasama po sa Region 6 ang Boracay,” he added.

The government initially enforced the ECQ in the “NCR Plus” bubble from  Mar. 29 to April 4.

The ECQ period, however, was extended for at least another week until April 11.

On Sunday, the Philippines logged 11,028 additional COVID-19 cases, pushing the country’s total tally to 795,051. Of this figure, 135,526 are active cases.
