PH logs 11,028 new COVID-19 cases, 41,205 recoveries
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 11,028 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, raising the total active cases to 135,526.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 795,051, according to DOH.
Of this number, 646,100 are recoveries, including the 41,205 additional patients who have recovered, and 13,425 deaths, which include two new fatalities.
The DOH said active cases compose 17 percent of the tally, while recoveries and deaths represent 81.3 and 1.69 percent of the total count.
Of the active cases, 98.4 percent are mild and asymptomatic.
The DOH added that 22.7 percent of the 26,624 who were tested have tested positive for the virus.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to the health department, 20 duplicate entries, including eight recoveries, were removed from the case count.
Article continues after this advertisementTwo cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
Five laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System on Saturday.
The government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, and Bulacan until April 11 to curb the rising number of fresh COVID-19 cases.
