BAGUIO CITY — The isolation units of four private hospitals in this city have reached their maximum capacity, forcing these to stop accommodating patients inflicted with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The Saint Louis University Hospital of the Sacred Heart (SLU-HSH) announced on April 2 that it had run out of wards dedicated for COVID-19.

That day, the city recorded 227 new COVID-19 cases.

The hospitals’ management said there were COVID-19 patients who had to wait at the emergency rooms since there were no vacancies at their COVID-19 wards.

As of Sunday, only the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) has the capacity to admit COVID-19 patient’s.

The BGHMC management has again appealed to the public not to put the sacrifices of medical front-liners in vain and follow the public health standards.

As of Saturday (April 3), the city has listed 119 new cases and two new COVID-19-related deaths.

The city now has a total of 7,934 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 951 active infections, 6,852 recoveries and 131 deaths.
