Palace wishes ex-President Erap speedy recovery from COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Tuesday wished former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada a speedy recovery from COVID-19.
“We wish former President Erap Estrada to please get well soon. Alamat po kayo dito sa Pilipinas [You are a legend in this country],” Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said in a Palace briefing.
“We want to see you healthy and we want you to take part in the public life of the country for a very long period of time. Pagaling po kayo [You get well], President Erap Estrada,” he added.
It was former senator Jinggoy Estrada who revealed that Erap tested positive for coronavirus and was hospitalized due to the disease.
The former president, however, was in stable condition.
Former senator JV Ejercito said his father was forced to spend the night at a hospital’s emergency room since the hospital is already teeming with patients seeking medical assistance.
