Fire kills man in Leyte city
TACLOBAN CITY—A man died in a fire that destroyed his house in Baybay City, Leyte province past midnight on Monday (March 22).
Officials said Ronilo Mahusay Jr. was asleep when the fire broke out and was unable to flee.
Another house, owned by brothers Joselito and Leo Dibdib, was also destroyed by the fire, according to reports of the Philippine National Police regional office based in the town of Palo, Leyte.
Investigators said the fire broke out around 12:50 a.m. at the fatality’s house owned by his mother, Luz.
The fire quickly spread to the house of the Dibdib brothers and was put out past 2 a.m. Investigators have yet to know the cause of the fire.
