Cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of Luzon due to tail-end of frontal system
MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and scattered rains are expected over parts of Luzon due to the tail-end of frontal system, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
In its 5 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the tail-end of frontal system is currently affecting the eastern sections of northern and central Luzon.
With the tail-end of frontal system, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms is expected over mainland Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Nueva Eciija, Bulacan, and northern portion of Quezon.
“Ang atin naman pong northeasterly surface windflow o modified amihan, patuloy pa rin itong nakaka-apekto naman dito sa dulong hilagang Luzon,” weather specialist Meno Mendoza said.
(The northeasterly surface windflow or modified northeast monsoon continues to affect Extreme Northern Luzon.)
The northeasterly surface windflow, meanwhile, will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Mendoza said that the low-pressure area within the Philippine area of responsibility was last spotted at 120 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan, and will not affect weather conditions in any part of the country.
