Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto is negative for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto tested negative for COVID-19, the local chief executive confirmed this himself in a tweet on Monday afternoon.
According to Sotto, the results of his and his companions’ RT-PCR swab tests came out earlier this day and they were all found negative for the respiratory illness caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
Sotto and his close contacts had themselves tested after his long-time driver died last week because of COVID-19.
“NEGATIVE ang result ng [RT-PCR] test ko. Negative din ‘yung nakasama namin sa sasakyan. Thank you for your messages and prayers,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Let’s all do our part to prevent the spread of this virus and its variants,” he added.
