Drunk driver crashes into car of another drunk driver he was supposed to help; both arrested

A drunk driver who came to the rescue of his friend who was equally drunk and crashed into a ditch, ended up crashing into her car too in Tennessee in the United States.

Natasha Nancel, 24, admitted to having drunk wine and espresso martini before driving and crashing into a ditch last Thursday, March 4, as per Scoop: Nashville on the same day.

Responding authorities also reported that Nancel smelled of alcohol when they found her outside her crashed car at around 12 midnight.

Aside from admitting that she consumed alcohol, Nancel disclosed that she was looking at her phone while driving when she crashed.

Before police were able to respond to the crash, however, Nancel first asked for help from her friend, 30-year-old Melvil Arnt, who was also drunk.

Arnt, who admitted to having had “two beers” before driving, said he was supposed to help Nancel when he drove into her already crashed vehicle.

Police noted that the two drivers blew over double the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level, which led to them being charged for driving under the influence. Ian Biong /ra
