Drunk driver calls police to report own crime, arrested
In a seemingly unusual case of impaired driving, an intoxicated driver called the police to report the crime the driver had committed in Ontario, Canada.
The driver, whose identity was withheld, was found driving in Oakville after he made the call, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) disclosed on Twitter on Feb. 22.
“This might be a first for us. Driver calls 911 to report an Impaired Driver; themselves,” police said.

Constable Marc Taraso, who was recently nominated for a Police Hero award by the Police Association of Ontario, meanwhile, assured that the report was true.
“Occam’s razor; just telling it like it happened! As for the why; well that’s sometimes a story best suited for the courtroom!” Taraso said. Occam’s Razor (sometimes spelled Ockham) is a philosophical rule claiming that the simplest explanation is most likely correct.
