Covid-19 infections in PH breach 568K; active cases at over 32K
MANILA, Philippines — The number of recorded coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections in the Philippines has breached the 568,000th mark, with active cases standing at more than 32,000 as of Thursday, February 25.
In its February 25 health bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) logged 2,269 new Covid-19 cases in the country, 738 new recoveries, and 72 new deaths bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines to 568,680—of which 32,437 are active. Meanwhile, recoveries stand at 524,042 while the death toll has reached 12,201.
Of the active cases, 88.5 percent are mild, 6.1 percent are asymptomatic, 2.4 percent are critical, 2.3 percent are severe, and 0.78 percent is moderate.
