Duterte to visit areas affected by Auring
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to visit the areas affected by Typhoon Auring on Tuesday, a Palace official said.
“Ngayong araw, nakatakdang bisitahin ni Pangulong Duterte ang nasalantang lugar para makita firsthand ang damage na dulot ng bagyong ito,” Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in an online briefing.
(Today, President Duterte will visit the areas to see firsthand the damage caused by the typhoon.)
The Tandag River in Surigao del Sur swelled amid the onslaught of Auring which caused massive flooding in parts of the province.
Several structures in Surigao del Norte also sustained damage due to Auring’s fury.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of Feb. 22, Nograles said 29,008 families were affected by the typhoon.
The Palace official assured financial assistance was given to those hit by Auring.
