Police nab barber, gardener in Quezon drug busts
LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested a barber and a gardener, both alleged drug pushers, in separate buy-bust operations in Tayabas City in Quezon province early Monday.
Major Romar Iddoba Pacis, Tayabas police chief, said anti-illegal drug operatives collared Jayson Odavar, 30, after he reportedly sold a shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Wakas around 2 a.m.
Authorities seized three plastic sachets of shabu worth P6,596 in the street market from the suspect.
Earlier, the police also busted Rolando Mabulay Jr., 47, in another sting in Barangay Calumpang at 12:20 a.m. The suspect yielded three sachets of meth with an estimated street value of P10,000.
The police said Odavar, who is a barber, and Mabulay, who also works as a gardener, use their legitimate jobs to cover up their illegal activities.
The suspects are locked up at the city police jail and are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
