CALBAYOG CITY –– A 15-year-old mother delivered her baby by the roadside in Barangay San Policarpo around 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb 11.
Leonard Obong, assistant department head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), said the teenage mother experienced labor pains and was scheduled for an ultrasound on Thursday.
He said the teenage mother and her mother were on their way to the hospital when she unexpectedly gave birth to a baby girl along the street.
Obong said the mother was forced to deliver the baby at the roadside since no ambulance went to the area.
The Calbayog Rescue Team later arrived to bring the mother to the hospital.
