TACLOBAN CITY—A vaccine deployment task force will be formed in Eastern Samar.
It was in response to a directive by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for all local government units to draw up guidelines for coronavirus vaccinations.
In an order by the provincial government on Thursday (Feb. 11), local officials and those from the Department of Health, Philippine National Police and Philippine Army would have a role in the vaccination program for the province’s 22 towns and the city of Borongan.
The provincial health office was designated as lead agency in the vaccine operation center.
All LGUs in the province were also directed to establish their own vaccine deployment task forces.
Technical working groups would be formed to take charge of procurement and finance, actual immunization, vaccine storage and transport. A group would be in charge of information dissemination.
The provincial government has set aside P500 million for the procurement of coronavirus vaccines and syringes.
