Quezon logs 8 Covid-19 deaths in first week of February

LUCENA CITY – Eight patients succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) so far this month in Quezon, bringing the death toll in the province to 232 as of Feb. 5.

In its 10 a.m. bulletin on Friday, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) disclosed the death of a validated virus carrier in Lopez town.

On Feb. 3, two Covid-19 patients died in Candelaria and while three others died the day before in Plaridel town, island municipality of Perez and Tayabas City.

Two more patients in Tayabas City and Tiaong town were also included in the list of fatalities on Feb. 1 tally.

At total of 36 Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in the province last month.

Quezon, which remains under the modified general community quarantine status, has logged a total of 7,003 COVID-19 cases and 6,466 recoveries.

The province has 305 active virus carriers as of Friday morning, down from 343 on Jan. 31.
