30 drug suspects fall in Cavite province
LUCENA CITY –– At least 30 suspected drug pushers were arrested in two-day synchronized operations in Cavite province, the police said on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Colonel Marlon Santos, Cavite police chief, said in a report that anti-narcotics agents collared 17 drug suspects in 15 buy-bust operations on Tuesday and another 13 individuals in nine sting operations Monday, Feb. 1
.
Authorities seized a total of 114 plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth), an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be from drug sales, and drug paraphernalia.
The report that was posted by the Cavite police public information office on its Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon did not mention the estimated value of the seized drugs.
The police also held 10 wanted criminals, including two who are among the most wanted in the province, two illegal gamblers, and 16 other suspects in various crimes.
At least 139 individuals were arrested for violating health protocols to stop the spread of SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). They were found either not wearing face masks or violating curfew.
