BAGUIO CITY – The temperature in this city plunged further to 9.4 °C on Sunday morning, according to the synoptic station of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) here.
Earlier at 5 a.m., the mercury plunged 10 °C.
Pagasa said the chill was recorded at 6:30 a.m. and was the coldest so far this “amihan” season.
It matched the coldest temperature last year, the lowest temperature so far in the last three years.
The cold weather is caused by “amihan,” or cool northeast monsoon season that prevails between October and early March, Pagasa said.
