PNP reshuffle: Sinas appoints 23 police officials to new posts

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas has named 23 police officials to new posts in a major reorganization within the national police force.
The retirement of several senior officials prompted the upward movement of third-level officers, the PNP said in a new brief sent to the media on Sunday.
“Police Brigadier General Nolasco Bathan retires today, January 31, while Police Major General Amado Clifton Empiso, erstwhile Director for Intelligence, and Police Major General Joel Napoleon Coronel, Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) are set to retire from the police service in February 6th and 11th, respectively,” the PNP said.
The PNP said Sinas appointed Brig. Gen. Luisito Magnaye as the new director of the PNP Health Service while Police Maj. Gen.Dennis Agustin was appointed as PNP Director for Intelligence.
Sinas also designated Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro as acting director CIDG.
“We are infusing new blood into the command structure to fill the void created by the retirement of some senior officials and ensure continuity of command,” Sinas said.
