In an attempt to bypass COVID-19 protocols, a couple opted to go on a walk with one of them on a leash, as walking dogs are allowed after curfew hours in Quebec, Canada.
Their act did not fly by, however, as both the wife and husband were fined 1,500 Canadian dollars each (around $1,180 or P56,600), as per CTV News Montreal on Jan. 11.
Police said that after the two were spotted by officers, the wife protested that she was just walking her dog and that they were following the rules set by Quebec Premier Francois Legault.
Despite arguing that they were not violating rules, the two said they are happy to receive a ticket, landing them quite the sizeable fine.
As per rules placed on Quebec, people may walk their dogs past the 8 p.m. curfew as long as they stay within one kilometer of their own houses, according to the report.
In the first weekend of the curfew, around 750 tickets, which are worth thousands of dollars in fines, have been issued to violators. Ian Biong/JB
