Low pressure to bring rain to Visayas, Mindanao
Low pressure east of Mindanao, along with the tailend of a frontal system, will bring scattered rain and thunderstorms in Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the weather disturbance was less likely to develop into a tropical depression by Wednesday. But Pagasa still warned of potential flash floods and landslides in case of moderate to heavy rain. As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the low pressure trough was estimated at 160 kilometers southeast of General Santos City. Luzon will continue to feel the effects of the northeast monsoon, which is expected to prevail until February. Bicol and Southern Luzon may experience cloudy skies with light rain on Wednesday, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may have cloudy weather. —Jhesset O. Enano
