Pagasa: Cool, cloudy Saturday with a chance of rain

MANILA, Philippines — Cool weather is expected over Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” on Saturday.

 “Sa kasalukuyan, northeast monsoon or amihan pa rin po ang nakakaapekto sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon kaya’t makakaranas pa rin po tayo ng dry and cold air dito,” Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said in the early morning update.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the “amihan” will also prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

 Bulquerin added that the” amihan” will likewise bring cloudy skies with light rains to Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a frontal system is currently affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon and parts of Visayas, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.

 Mindanao and the rest of Visayas can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
