Gov’t earmarks P2B for loans to farmers, fisherfolk
MANILA, Philippines — The government has launched a P2-billion lending program to support farmers, agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations and community-based organizations under the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty program. The project, done in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and through the Land Bank of the Philippines, is already available up to Dec. 21, 2022. The DAR said the program offered a loanable amount of up to 80 percent of the awarded contract price for goods that would be delivered by the organizations of agrarian reform beneficiaries to a contracting government agency. —JHESSET O.
