LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized over half a million pesos worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation here Wednesday.

Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea, Lucena City police chief, said anti-narcotics agents busted Mark Acabado, 38, and his associate Rosselle Flores, 30, after the duo sold a pack of meth to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay Mayao Crossing at 7:50 a.m.

Authorities confiscated 18 plastic sachets of shabu weighing 26.30 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P178,840.

According to the police, however, the seized meth is worth P536,520 in the street market.

The report tagged Acabado as a notorious shabu peddler and was in the police list of drug pushers in the city.

Reformed drug users and concerned villagers tipped off the police on the illegal drug activities of the suspects.
