MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Monday gave 30 informants and three operating units a big pat on the back, rewarding them with P17.39-million in cash.

The informants received a total of P14.758 million in cash for information that resulted in successful anti-narcotics operations, arrest of drug suspects, and the seizure of large volumes of illegal drugs from January 2019 to October this year.

Wilkins Villanueva, director-general of PDEA, also awarded a total of P2.64 million cash to the PDEA’s National Capital Region and Central Luzon offices as well as its intelligence and investigation service as incentives for their “laudable” anti-drug operations which resulted in the seizure of drugs, arrest of several suspects and the dismantling a shabu laboratory in Mandaluyong City. —Jeannette I.
