Gov’t expands coverage of cash aid to tourism

/ 04:46 AM December 15, 2020

Due to the very low number of applications, the labor and tourism departments have expanded the coverage of the P3.1- billion cash assistance meant for pandemic-displaced tourism workers under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act emergency measure. The Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Tourism were tasked to provide a one-time P5,000 cash aid to 601,400 tourism workers in 16,384 establishments that closed down permanently or temporarily during the lockdown. —Dona Z.
