PDEA: 10,721 high-value drug targets nabbed

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday reported that since the beginning of President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs, 10,721 high-value targets have been arrested.

Based on PDEA data since 2016, those arrested include 287 foreigners, 362 elected officials, 102 uniformed employees and 445 government employees.

The PDEA added that 18 celebrities were also arrested. Some P46.42 billion worth of shabu has been seized since 2016. The PDEA pegged the official number of drug suspects killed during operations at 5,942.
