Heavy rains from LPA cause flooding in Eastern Samar towns
TACLOBAN CITY –– Heavy rains spawned by a low-pressure area (LPA) caused flooding in at least two towns in Eastern Samar on Tuesday.
In Arteche, Mayor Roland Boei Evardone canceled all sea travels, including those by small sea vessels, to avoid any untoward incident.
A road leading to the next town of Jipapad, also in Eastern Samar, was rendered impassable due to heavy rains.
In Dolores town, Mayor Shonny Niño Carpeso on Tuesday issued an executive order canceling all works, both in public and private offices, due to heavy rains and flooding.
Its social and development office has also started packing relief food to be distributed to affected families.
A fisherman, identified as Jimmy Mandriaga of Barangay Tikling, Dolores, was reported missing since he left their village to fish on Monday.
