WATCH: Group asks Makabayan bloc congressmen to resign

MANILA, Philippines — A group has asked Makabayan bloc lawmakers in the House of Representatives to resign, alleging that they are members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.

In a Radyo INQUIRER video, La Indepencia Pilipinas Secretary General Ka Pep Goitia also asked Speaker Lord Allan Velasco to investigate the Makabayan lawmakers for possible ethics violations.

“Hinahamon namin si Speaker Velasco na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa ethics committee at patalsikin na sila bago mahuli pa ang lahat,” he said in a press conference in front of the Senate on Tuesday.

(We call on Speaker Velasco to conduct an investigation in the ethics committee and remove them before everything is too late.)

“Makabayan congressmen, resign. Resign all, ngayon na (now),” he added. [ac]
