Pagasa sees cloudy Saturday with rain showers nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Three weather systems currently affecting the country’s weather are expected to bring rains to most parts of the county on Saturday, according to the state weather bureau.
In its 5 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, tail end of a cold front and easterlies are currently affecting the country’s weather conditions.
The “amihan”, according to weather specialist Benison Estareja, will bring cloudy skies with rains to extreme Northern Luzon, specifically in the Ilocos region, Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The tail-end of a cold frontal system, meanwhile, is currently affecting the rest of Northern Luzon, and will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers to m,ainland Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora and Benguet.

The easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao regions in Mindanao and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
