Pantino bags first boys 14 title

CEBU’S ARTHUR Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino bagged his first-ever boys 14 title after demolishing Manila’s Jerome Romualdez, 10-2, in the Cebu leg of the Dunlop Sports Visayas Junior Tennis Series, which came to an end yesterday at the Cebu Tennis Center in Laray, Consolacion.

Fellow Cebuano Sally Mae Siso clinched the girls 18 title by defeating Kezia Jabines, 10-6, in their finals match.

The boys 18 title was bagged by Dave Mosqueda, who outlasted Janel Pintor, 10-6, in their championship battle. Mosqueda was a double champion as he was also awarded the boys 16 title after Joshua Kinaadman retired due to cramps in their finals match with the score at 8-all.

Another double champion was Taiwan’s Patty Kuo, who clinched the girls 16 and 14 titles.

In the girls 16 , Kuo demolished Bohol’s Dawn Albert Uy, 10-2, while in the girls 14, she routed Zethley Mae Alferez, 10-1.

Alferez of Bright Academy made up for the loss with no less than the girls 12 title, wherein she went past Joy Pogoy of Leyte, 10-7.

The boys 12 title was notched by USC’s Gener Francis Lambayan who dismissed fellow Carolinian Marc Suson, 10-8.

The 10 under unisex title was bagged by Vince Lominuque of Lapu-Lapu. He defeated Gabriel Andre Ttrazo of Asturias, 10-8, for the title. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
