MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to visit Cagayan on Sunday to give assistance and assess the situation after most of the region was battered by Typhoon Ulysses.
“Bibisita kami bukas ni Pangulong Duterte sa Cagayan upang magbigay ng tulong at ma-assess ang kalagayan at mga pangangailangan ng mga apektadong lugar,” Senator Christopher Bong Go said in a statement on Saturday.

In a televised address earlier, Duterte has assured that government responders are on their way to rescue victims of Ulysses in Cagayan.
Duterte added that he will send aircraft from the military to assist in the relief operations in the province.
Over 39 people were killed and 20 others went missing after floodwaters submerged most of Cagayan province following rain dumped by Typhoon Ulysses.
