DSWD assures standby funds of P884-M for LGUs as Rolly threatens PH
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Sunday assured the public that it has a standby fund of P884 million for government response during the impact of Typhoon Rolly.
In an online press briefing of the national government for Rolly updates, DSWD Undersecretary Felicisimo Budiongan said the standby funds were allocated for stockpiles and food packs ready for distribution to Rolly victims.
“Ang inyo pong DSWD ay may standby funds at stock piles na worth P884 million[…] Ito ay composed of P263 million, assisted by funds, ito ay nabahagi na natin sa ating mga field offices,” Budiongan said.
(DSWD has standby funds and stockpiles worth P884 million. It is composed of P263 milllion assisted by funds and we already distributed this at our field offices.)
Under the P884 million funds, there are also P579 million worth of stockpiles which is composed of P115 million worth of family food packs for distribution and P180 million for food items.
Also, DSWD has P279 million worth of non-food items which is composed of tents, hygiene kits, family kits, sleeping kits and kitchen kits.
