Soldier loses 9 mm pistol, P30,000 in cash in Cabanatuan burglary

CABANATUAN CITY—A soldier lost his service firearm and money to thieves during a burglary at his home here early on Monday (Oct. 26), police said.

The soldier was identified as SSgt. Joefrey Baccal, 39, of the village of Bangad here.

Investigators said the thieves took a sling bag with the soldier’s 9 mm pistol, 15 bullets and P30,000 in cash.

The bag also had three extra magazines with 45 bullets, identification and bank cards and a USB drive.
