Daraga public market worker nabbed in drug bust

DARAGA, Albay — A local government employee in this town was arrested by police on Friday night during a drug bust, a police report said Saturday.

Police Captain Dexter Panganiban, Albay police spokesperson identified the arrested local government employee as  John Jacob, 44, a “job order” employee assigned at the Daraga Public Market and a resident of Barangay Kilicao.

The suspect was caught selling suspected shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Sagpon at around 9:10 p.m.

Seized from the suspect were two sachets of shabu worth P20,400, the P1,500 marked money, and a motorcycle.

The suspect was placed under police custody and will be facing charges for possession and trading of illegal drugs.
