3.7-magnitude earthquake sways Eastern Samar island

TACLOBAN CITY –– A 3.7 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Homonhon in Guiuan town, Eastern Samar on Friday morning.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor occurred at 9:40 a.m. and has a depth of 020 kilometers.

The quake was tectonic in origin and did not result in any damage or aftershocks, the Phivolcs said.
