/ 05:12 AM September 29, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will implement a fully cashless transaction system using Beep cards on public utility buses plying the Edsa Busway route on Oct. 1 as part of safety measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission on public transport.

The LTFRB urged commuters to purchase Beep cards to avoid inconvenience.

“We also want to limit the time spent in queues and lines that come with having to do cashless payments,” LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra said.
