PNP to roll out police clearance booths in SM Malls
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will set up national police clearance booths in SM Malls nationwide in a bid to decongest police camps and installations and to make the service more accessible to the public.
PNP chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan said PNP and SM Malls have already finalized plans to install national police clearance booths.
“I am grateful to Mr. Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls for his approval of the pilot project of national police clearance booths in SM Malls during a meeting with the PNP last September 16”, Cascolan said in a press briefing on Monday.
A soft opening of the booths in SM Government Service Centers at SM Mall of Asia, SM Bacoor, and SM Southmall is projected to be made within the next two months, Cascolan added.
“Of course, the functions, responsibilities of other offices inside camp crame will follow suit,” he also said. – Miggy Dumlao
