MANILA, Philippines – Chief Justice Renato Corona did not file his income tax returns (ITRs) from 2002 to 2010, Internal Revenue commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares disclosed Wednesday before the Senate, acting as an impeachment court, for the trial of Corona.

“He [Corona] did not file an income tax return from 2002 to 2010,” Henares said during the direct examination of private prosecutor Arthur Lim.

“There’s no income tax returns  filed,   this is the problem, from 2002 to 2010.This is what  I have been itching…because Chief Justice  Corona is what is termed in the BIR a local employee,” Lim said as he justified the appearance of the BIR chief.
