‘Chipmunk bandit’: Man dressed in chipmunk costume robs pharmacy

In an odd effort to hide his identity, an unknown man dressed in a chipmunk costume robbed a pharmacy in Louisiana, United States.

The man, aptly given the title “The Chipmunk Bandit” by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, went to rob the Medicine Chest pharmacy in Ville Platte last Saturday, Sept. 19, as per CBS affiliate KLFY on Sept. 21.

Security footage shows the man dressed in a brown, full-body chipmunk costume – complete with a tail – run from the store’s parking lot to the rear door and held an employee at gunpoint.

The employee was then escorted by the suspect back into the store and was forced to fill a bag with an undisclosed amount of narcotic medication, according to the report.
