A woman from Michigan in the United States received quite the peculiar postcard one morning as she said it “looked like it’s been through some wear and tear.”

Only did Brittany Keech realize that the postcard indeed has gone through a lot when she checked out the stamp, which was dated Oct. 29, 1920—a whole 100 years past, as per WXMI on Sept. 9.

She quipped that the United States Postal Service (USPS) was “a little too slow” as it took them one century to have it delivered.

FEATURED STORIES

Keech said she found the old Halloween postcard on top of her mail earlier this week in Belding. The stamp also showed that it was sent by someone from Jamestown.

The postcard, which was described to have old, cursive writing, was meant for one Roy McQueen on Division Street, according to the report.

The note, written by a Flossie Burgess and addressed to her “Dear Cousins” was quoted as saying:

“Hope this will find you all well. We are quite well but mother has awful lame knees. It is awful cold here. I just finished my history lesson and am going to bed pretty soon. My father is shaving and my mother is telling me your address. I will have to close for a night. Hope grandma and grandpa are well. Don’t forget to write us – Roy get his pants fixed yet.”

Keech shared her discovery to the Positively Belding Facebook page on Sept. 9 and disclosed that with the help of a “few amazing [women],” she might have found a living family member of the postcard’s intended recipient.

She said she will keep updating the said post when there are new developments. Ian Biong /ra
