PAF aircraft safely towed off Pgadian runway after tire blowout

PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR — A Philippine Air Force (PAF) safely aborted its take off here and was towed to safety Saturday noon after  encountering a tire blowout.

Richard Fabria, chief of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), said the aircraft was immediately moved off the runway to keep it open for incoming commercial flights from Manila.

CDRRMO tapped the military’s 547th Engineering Battalion and its equipment to tow the aircraft.

PAF was reportedly conducting flight training exercises between Manila and Pagadian when the mishap happened.
